Grants

The Low Carbon Building Programme (LCBP)

The LCBP is an incentive offered by the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC).  It is only possible to secure a grant if you appoint a company registered with the Microgeneration Certification Scheme to supply the products and perform the work. This is only awarded to companies who fulfil rigorous technical and quality qualifying criteria.

The following table shows funding levels available for each microgeneration technology and the grant offered.

Local Authorities

Some local authorities are offering further grants and incentives, it is worth checking with your council.

Planning considerations

If your property is listed, planning consent will be required for any renewable energy system. Ground source heat pumps and solar thermal products are permitted within certain guidelines, air source heat pumps will need to be referred to your local authority. You are responsible for checking whether consent is required and obtaining any relevant consents and for submitting any notifications for building control.
