Underfloor Heating
Underfloor Heating is increasingly used in new build projects, Marlborough Heating specialises in specifying and installing this system in any size property. Underfloor heating can be installed in an extension and connected to your existing radiator based heating system.
There are numerous benefits to fitting Underfloor system in new build or extensions:
Space
Every square metre of the home can be fully utilised.
Hygiene
No dust and the underfloor heating will help to reduce house dust mites.
Aesthetics
You can design your home to suit you rather than your heating engineer.
Labour saving
Cleaning of the floors is easier and wet floors dry very quickly.
Comfort
Radiant heat will provide the highest comfort levels.
Silence
Compared to radiator systems, there is no noise.
Cost effective
Energy saving from 15-40% can be achieved with underfloor heating.
Ease of control
Small temperature difference between the floors means the system is self regulating
An Underfloor heating system will generally run at around 45oC as opposed to 80 oC used in radiator systems, this means that energy and running cost savings can be found, especially when used with renewable heat sources such as heat pumps.
The diagrams below illustrated how the heat travels around the room in a radiator system on the left and from an underfloor heated system on the right. The underfloor heating system heats mainly the living area in the room, whilst the heat from the radiator system collects at the ceiling – a much less efficient heating method!
